GRAPEVINE, Texas — Pastors and ministry leaders gathered this week in North Texas to confront cultural compromise in the Church and honor the legacy of Charlie Kirk, the Turning Point USA founder assassinated last September while speaking at a college outreach event in Utah.

The TPUSA Faith Forward Pastors' Summit at Fellowship Church featured several speakers, including Kirk’s widow and TPUSA CEO, Erika Kirk, along with a number of pastors and evangelists who praised Charlie Kirk’s influence as an ambassador for the Gospel, particularly among younger people.

Led by Pastor Lucas Miles, senior director of TPUSA Faith, the Faith Forward Pastors' Summit provided a diverse lineup of practical teaching for ministry leaders on topics ranging from church growth and biblical masculinity to engaging the culture for Christ and confronting the teachings of Islam.

Here are four key moments from the conference.

In an emotional message, Erika Kirk urged pastors to embrace boldness in their calling and refuse neutrality in a pivotal cultural moment.

Kirk described the current time as one “when the weight of responsibility settles so heavily on a generation that neutrality is no longer an option. It’s a decision in itself.” She said every moment must be “siphoned through a biblical lens” and warned against “trimming the truth so that it fits more comfortably in the spirit of the age.”

She recalled the birth of Turning Point USA Faith, noting that Charlie Kirk understood the need for unity across denominations under “one banner … Jesus Christ, who is our Lord and Savior.”

Kirk reminded the audience that Charlie’s passion for the church was ignited during COVID lockdowns, when churches were shut down while “strip clubs and marijuana dispensaries remained open.” She said Charlie believed deeply in pastors because “the health of a nation will never rise above the health of its churches. And the strength of the church will never rise above the faithfulness of its shepherds.”

She directly challenged those in the room: “Not every pastor feels that way. … Some aren’t very young.” Then she asked pointedly, “My husband was murdered for preaching the Gospel. What will it take then? And you’re afraid of taking a stance on a topic for fear of maybe losing attendance or what people will think about?”
